**NEW EVENTS CALENDAR POLICY FOR ADVERTISERS**
What is the Events Calendar?
Autism Victoria’s online Events Calendar is available to all visitors of the Autism Victoria website, and provides information to individuals interested in Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs) about upcoming events to be held in Victoria and throughout the country. As Victoria’s peak ASD body, Autism Victoria’s Events Calendar is a primary source of information for individuals in the ASD community.
Please notice that the Events Calendar is for events only. If you are looking to promote your business or want to advertise products, please email advertising@autismvictoria.org.au for advertising rates in our quarterly magazine, The Spectrum.
What can I submit for inclusion?
Information/events accepted for inclusion on the Events Calendar include:
- Events of interest to the community in relation to information about ASDs
- Events to raise awareness of ASDs
- Information sessions for individuals with ASDs, family members, professionals, or members of the public
- Training programs for individuals interested in ASDs
- Fundraising or community events
- Intervention groups/programs/recreational activities for individuals with ASDs or those affected by ASD
- Workshops or seminars on ASDs
This list is not exhaustive. All events submitted will be reviewed by Autism Victoria’s Ethical Guidelines Group before being accepted for inclusion on our Events page.
Whilst the objective of the Events Page is to inform members of the community about all events and information sessions connected with Autism Spectrum Disorders, we have a responsibility to act with caution in relation to speculative treatments, opinions and claims. Therefore, events will be listed at the discretion of Autism Victoria.
What is the cost involved?
The fee for placing your event on our website Events Calendar is $100 per event.
To add your event, fill out the webform with all mandatory fields included and submit your request. Once approved, you will be notified via email, and a request for payment will be sent. Once we receive payment, your event will be posted within five working days.
If you are posting multiple events, each event will incur a $100 charge.
Our aim is to promote events to raise awareness and provide information helpful to the ASD community.
If you are a not-for-profit agency, or your event is cost-free or low cost (e.g. gold coin donation) to families and individuals, please indicate so on the web form and you may be exempt from payment. This decision is made at the discretion of Autism Victoria’s Ethical Guidelines Group.
What benefits do I get?
- Your event will be available on our Events Calendar for three months, or until your event is over, whichever happens first.
- If yours is an ongoing event, or you would like it posted longer than three months, we will send you a reminder at the end of the three-month period and you will have the option of extending your event for another three months. An additional $100 payment will be required.
- You are able to attach a one-page flier to your event, and can add a link to your website.
- A link to your Event Calendar entry will be included in our monthly eSpectrum email update, which is sent out to over 8000 subscribers.
- You can include your details in our Service Registry (if applicable) so that our Information team is aware of your event and can pass details on to callers through Autism Victoria’s Information Line.
How can I submit an event?
We hope to have our online form up and running soon. In the meantime, please fill out this form and email to events@autismvictoria.org.au. In addition to this application form, you can also send us a one-page flier which we can attach to your event. We will then contact you about payment options, and once payment has been received, your event will be included on our Events Calendar as soon as possible.
Who can I contact for more information?
If you need clarification on any of the points outlined in this policy, please email events@autismvictoria.org.au
